Safety Council

he MTA Safety Council is the only Minnesota organization dedicated to advancing safe policies, practices, technology, effective risk management and accident/injury prevention in the trucking industry. The MTA Safety Council also addresses trucking’s unique human resource challenges, health and wellness issues, as well as recruitment and retention strategies.

Through meetings, programs and committees, the Council fosters relationships and delivers the latest in relevant information to enhance the success of safety professionals and the companies they represent. Membership is on an individual basis and open to anyone who is affiliated with an MTA member company.

The North American Transportation Management Institute (NATMI) provides internationally recognized, university accredited training and professional certification for trucking professionals. The MTA Institute will be offering a week-long NATMI training course to become a Certified Safety Supervisor (CSS) or Certified Safety Director (CDS).

The MTA Institute will be offering a week-long NATMI training course to become a Certified Safety Supervisor (CSS) or Certified Safety Director (CDS).

MIP Certification & Re-Certification
Minnesota Statute 169.781 requires commercial motor vehicles to be inspected annually and display an annual inspection decal. Training provided in this class by the Minnesota State Patrol will prepare individuals to become certified as inspectors for trucks (including farm trucks), buses, and other vehicles required by the state to have annual inspections.
